What is Osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is a disease of the whole joint and is the most common reason for not being active as people age. Pain and stiffness being the primary complaint.

What are the risk factors of Osteoarthritis?

Risk factors to having Osteoarthritis that you cannot change – age, sex and heredity.

Arthritis risk factors that you can change include muscle weakness, lifestyle factors (sleep and diet), comorbidities, psychological factors and health beliefs.

How can I manage Osteoarthritis?

First line of treatment includes education and exercises, but can also be shoe inserts/orthotics, taping/bracing, dry needling, manual therapy, walking aids, hot/cold packs.
